The (five) National Talent Academies were established in 2021 by Screen Ireland/ Fís Éireann to develop a highly skilled and diverse talent and crew base throughout the regions in Ireland. 

The initiative is the result of additional stimulus investment provided by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, and forms part of a wider strategy to support skills development across all regions of Ireland, with a particular focus on diversity and inclusion.

The National Talent Academy for Film and Television is led by Ardán, the National Talent Academy for Animation is led by Animation Ireland, and the three regional Crew Academies are currently managed by the Atlantic Academy (Danú Media) in Galway, Film in Limerick in Limerick, and Clermont Enterprise Hub in Wicklow. 

The National Talent Academy for Film & TV supports aspiring screenwriters, directors, and producers with courses, programmes, and career opportunities. It is all about talented individuals providing concrete ways to support you in building a career in the Film and Television industries.

Whatever stage you are at in your journey, the National Talent Academy is creating programmes and opportunities for new, emerging, and established talent, to support you both in beginning and developing your career into the long-term.  These programmes include roadshows, masterclasses, mentorships, shadowing and placement opportunities, amongst others.

The National Talent Academy calls out to talent nationwide with a special focus on the regions and on all minorities, to get involved and contribute your many unique and valuable voices to a vibrant, dynamic and inclusive audio-visual industry in Ireland.
