The Screen Talent Europe GA took place recently in Berlin on 13th and 14th February, hosted at the Nordic Embassies in Berlin. 

Screen Talent Europe (STE) is a network of film workshops and media centres based in in Europe with 16 partners across 9 countries, of which Ardán is a proud member. 

The purpose of the network is to promote and foster international collaboration of non-formal film workshops and to support the development of filmmakers through talent camps, network meetings and co-productions. 

The network strives toward best practice in the filmmaking industry through an exchange of knowledge, experiences and methods. By offering a common cross-border platform and championing the ‘learn by doing’ approach, STE aims to raise the standard of European talent development in the audiovisual sector.  

At the GA there were representatives from CineSud (Netherlands), Filmworkshop Aarhus (Denmark), Film Workshop Odense (Denmark), MOIN Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein (Germany), Tvibit Film / NUFF (Norway), Filmwerkstatt Münster (Germany), GMAC Film (Scotland), CineNord (Netherlands), Mediefabrikken (Norway), Film Stockholm, (Sweden) FilmCloud (Sweden), Ardán (Ireland), along with 12 filmmakers from across the network. 

Events within the network include such things as the Directors Village, Pitching Forum and the Talent Camp Odense. 

During the GA the group discussed the upcoming plans for the network over the next year and further afield and organized a workshop on Distribution for the filmmakers attending, as well as a workshop on Changing the perception of the “perfect film” presented by 18Frames.  

After the GA, a screening was hosted at the Nordic Embassies which showcased the work of the filmmakers from the network in attendance, followed by a networking session at the Nordic Embassies.
