Who is Ardán and what is the National Talent Academy Film & TV? 

Ardán (prev. Galway Film Centre) is a registered charity with the aim of supporting creatives within the audio-visual (film, TV, games, and animation) industry in the West of Ireland and beyond, by enabling access to industry resources and advice, and providing funding and training opportunities.  

Ardán operates the National Talent Academy for Film & Television on behalf of Screen Ireland, and we wish to recruit a Projects Co-ordinator to support execution of our ongoing activities in this area.  

The (five) National Talent Academies were established to develop a highly skilled and diverse talent and crew base throughout Ireland. The National Talent Academy for Film & Television supports aspiring screenwriters, directors, and producers with courses, programmes, and career opportunities. 

What are we looking for in a Projects Co-ordinator?  

We are looking for a motivated Projects Co-ordinator to ensure the execution and the smooth running of the annual National Talent Academy for Film and TV talent development programme.  

This is an opportunity to work as part of a small team to deliver a full NTA Film & TV programme that would include workshops, industry events, mentor schemes and shadow placements. 

The Projects Co-ordinator will be responsible for 

Supporting the Director of the National Talent Academy for Film and TV by executing the annual talent development programme across a number of different schemes aimed toward entry, emerging, and established talent in Ireland in the areas of production, direction, and writing for Film and TV. 

  • Effective coordination and execution of an annual programme of activities as developed by the Director of the National Talent Academy Film & TV
  • Working with partners, tutors, and facilitators to deliver the annual programme, coordinating applicants, speakers, delegates, facilities, logistics, travel, etc.
  • Assisting in budgeting, planning, and marketing and ensure the efficient delivery of all training, events, bursaries and placements in the programme
  • Assisting with reporting on the programme on an ongoing basis and for an annual report

Key tasks and responsibilities  

  • Coordination and administration of the delivery of multiple initiatives throughout the year  
  • Taking lead responsibility for the execution of NTA Film & TV projects as required  
  • Maintaining relationships with implementation partners, agencies, networks and individuals 
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance and effectiveness of the delivered initiatives  
  • Ensuring cost-effective delivery of activities and managing project budgets and invoicing 

The ideal candidate will have 

  • 2 years’ experience working in a similar organisation and/or in a similar co-ordination role 
  • Experience in the management and delivery of concurrent workshops, initiatives and schemes 
  • An understanding of the arts/ cultural sector, with an interest in film and TV production 
  • Organisational, administrative, budgetary and IT skills, including Microsoft Office products 
  • Experience in fostering relationships and team building between talent and stakeholders

Terms of employment 

The National Talent Academy Film & TV is an initiative of Screen Ireland and is managed by Ardán.  

The Projects Co-ordinator is a full-time role working mainly Monday – Friday, however some occasional weekend and evening work will be required. This is initially a 12-month contract with a 6-month probationary period. This hybrid role includes remote & in-office work in Ardán’s Galway office.
