Ardán, with the support of Galway City Council, Creative Ireland and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media is delighted to announce the Wild Galway Games Initiative (WGGI). This pilot project will be the first of its kind in Galway City and will unite and support local games developers to connect and collaborate with support from local professional games developers and Galway City cultural representatives.
To begin this process, we are asking all local GAME DEVELOPERS to register their interest with us at our initial WGGI Pitch Meeting, to take place in on Friday July 15th at 3pm. (Venue TBD.)
During this event Ardán staff will give a presentation on how the project will work as well as what we will be hoping to see from local games developers. This will be followed by a presentation from local cultural representatives from Galway City Council, Fáilte Ireland, and Galway City Museum, among others. This will be an important event in describing the Ardán-sponsored theme at the next Galway Game Jam, kicking off on Saturday July 16th at 10am in the Portershed, Bowling Green.
The ultimate aim of this initiative is to simultaneously give an opportunity to local developers to learn, connect, collaborate and be mentored by top local game development talent, while also working with Galway City Council towards a project that will be beneficial to the local tourism sector.
So, if you or someone you know is interested, please register here, and attend the first event where the entire structure of the initiative will be explained, your questions will be answered, and you will meet each other and Galway City’s cultural representatives.
