After a successful pilot programme in 2024 that delivered funding to seven different teams to develop their game ideas into a prototype, IndieDev: is returning in 2025 as part of the Digital Games Portfolio!

If you are a team looking for help to get your ideas off the ground, if you are hoping to connect with other developers like you in Ireland, and if you think that you could benefit from being mentored by leading professionals in the games industry, this might be the opportunity for you!
IndieDev 2025 is an initiative managed by Ardán and IMIRT on behalf of Northern Ireland Screen and Screen Ireland – aimed at supporting indie video game developers based in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Successful teams will be supported with funding of up to £15,000 / €15,000 based on programme, mentorship, and team requirements. See a testimonial from one of last year’s participant teams:
“IndieDev was a huge accelerator for us. It let the team take our rough seed of an idea and refine it into a polished prototype. The mentorship and workshops from experts were invaluable to guide our iteration and prepare us for developing towards a full release.” – Gary Chadwick and Marija Petrova (Margarita Games) – 2024 IndieDev Participants
As this is an all-island initiative, we are looking for passionate, hard-working indie developers that are habitually resident (resident for at least 6 months of the year) on the island of Ireland. Expressions of interest are welcome from teams of up to five. Individuals may apply, but teams are encouraged.
Please apply by filling out the APPLICATION FORM linked here.
Applicants will then be chosen through a competitive process – based on criteria relevant to knowledge, aptitude, and location – to progress to the interview stage with a panel of industry experts.
Successful applicants will be inducted through a series of workshops and talks from industry professionals over the course of 10-12 weeks of development which will culminate in a playable concept prototype.
Ardán will be hosting an online Information Session to talk applicants through the process and shed some light on how applications are assessed and what judges will be looking for. This will take place on Zoom on Wednesday, May 14th at 3:00 pm GMT. Please register to attend.
All Application Forms must be submitted by 5:00pm, Friday 30th May 2025.
