The WRAP Fund was created specifically to fund productions in the audio-visual sector in the West, covering the counties of Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo.

The audio-visual industry in the West of Ireland has seen incredible success and growth, and this is something the WRAP Fund aims to build on and expand into the future. Projects need funding to get off the ground and become a reality, and this is what WRAP is here for. As a commercial fund, a fundamental aim of the fund is to generate a return on its investments in order to replenish its resources for future investment and contribute to the fund’s sustainability.

Since its inception in 2018, the WRAP Fund has delivered extraordinary value to the West of Ireland across a diverse slate of Film, Television, and Animation projects. As of Q1 2023, WRAP has brought over €41 million of direct expenditure to our seven counties and can count BAFTA and IFTA winners as well as Cannes, Toronto, and SXSW-Premiering titles amongst its projects, with more to come to market in coming months.

In targeting productions based in this area, WRAP supports local talent, in all fields, to actively work and train, and gain experience and increased visibility within Ireland and globally. WRAP has also identified Company Investment as a major need in the region and will soon expand on its Company Investment Scheme to focus on the scaling up of Screen Production Companies in the Region.

The WRAP fund also hosts a database of talent, including cast and crew, to enable the inclusion of local talent in productions, whether you are a studio, director, producer, actor, writer or composer.  Sign up via the WRAP website and showcase your facilities and talent to creatives in the West.

The WRAP Fund is an initiative of the Western Development Commission and Ardán in association with Údarás na Gaeltachta and the local authorities of Clare, Donegal, Galway City, Galway County, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo.
